Dear Parents and Guardians,
I can’t say the days are getting warmer, but they are getting longer! Spring is coming!
The students are having a blast sledding, but we have had some collisions so we have needed to implement some additional procedures to keep our students safe and our school nurse happy.
The whole school is participating in One School One Book. All of the teachers at HHES are reading Charlotte’s Web to their students. This is an activity that brings the school together and gets student talking to each other about what they are reading
To complement the One School One Book initiative, our Helping Hands focus group has started a new drive called, “If You Are Able, Help the Stable”. We are collecting items for two animal sanctuaries. A notice went home last week with a list of needs. You can also find the notice on our website.
Our lost & found is adding up again! Please have your son/daughter check the table in the cafeteria. Or, parents are welcome to come in and check the lost & found.
Spring HEEP is fast approaching. We will be sending home a notice looking for volunteers soon. We are hoping to get enough adults to help with clubs to accomodate all of the students who want to participate.
We are planning a Winter Fun Week February 21-25, just before winter break. We have something different planned every day. This has been another tough year for all of us and a little bit of fun is just what we all need. See what our week looks like below.
· Monday: Penguin Day: wear black and white and students will play school wide Penguin Bingo at the end of the day.
· Tuesday: Assembly: Mobile Ed will be coming for a STEAM Museum (Science, Technology, Art Math) assembly; stations will be set up for students to explore. See attached link for more information.
· Wednesday: Classroom Door decorating contest. I am looking forward to some healthy competition. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. SAU staff will be the judges.
· Thursday: Winter Snow Fun (depending on the type of snow will determine what activities are planned.) Hot chocolate and cookies!
· Friday: Culmination of One School One Book, Charlotte’s Web. Wilbur Juice and popcorn for all!
We need volunteers to watch stations for the STEAM assembly! The hours are 9:30-2:40. I need a least 6 volunteers so we could have 6 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon to break it up. Please consider helping us out. Call and leave a message with Lynn or LInda 603 878-4387. Thank you so much!
Have a great weekend,
Marion
