A tricky leprechaun surprised the kindergarteners on St. Patrick's Day!  The children celebrated the day by making leprechaun hats and working on some fun St. Patrick's Day activities.

The First Graders had to do a book report in honor of Doctor Seuss.  Students had to state the title, the author, their favorite part in the story and why.  Both students and teachers dressed up as a character for the activities.    "OH The Places You'll Go!"

The kindergarten classes had great fun celebrating "Grinch Day"  They had many activities such as:

Decorating sugar cone trees; Making Magic Grinch Dust; Watching the Grinch movie; Making Merry Grinchmas Hats
Grinchy packet of activitiies - The packet of Grinchy activities includes:  rolling the dice number game, sight word color matching, dot to dot with larger numbers, etc. ......all to go along with the grinchy theme.  Many of the students dressed in green or red and several of the girls did their hair like Cindy Lou Who.

The Christmas Concerts held on November 30th and December 1st were a tremendous success!  As always, it was well attended by family and friends.  The children performed beautifully.

The Annual Christmas Bazaar was held on Monday, December 5th in the HHES gym. Last year was the 100th year celebration. This event is a great example of volunteer parents and community members coming together to provide an awesome experience for the children.  It takes many volunteers countless hours of work to pull this project together.

There were various tables such as the Craft table, Christmas table, Candy table, Toy table, Gift table, Bake table, Student Craft table (students make crafts in their classrooms and donate those items for sale), Greens table, Pet Gift table, Raffle table (adults only) and the Wrapping table. All items are priced inexpensively so students can shop for their family, experience the fine art of "giving" and get their gifts wrapped too. Moms and dads came in to volunteer their time and to help the younger ones to shop.   It was a great day and the children went home with lots of packages.

Thanks to the HHES PTA and all the volunteers for putting on this event.
