The STEAM Museum visited students at HHES. This was an interactive, hands-on learning experience for our students. STEAM is Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. There were several exhibits for the students to experience. There was Build an Arch; a 3D Printer; Friction Raceway; Humanoid Robot; Bike Generator and Programmable Robots. At Build an Arch the students used foam blocks to build a structure and then knock it down. At the Bike Generator students pedaled a bicycle to convert energy into electricity to light up the tower. There was also "Buzz Wire", a demonstration of how an electrical circuit works. They worked at a team to construct skyscrapers or bridges. The Music Maker allowed the students to create their own "sound". The representative for the event spoke to the students about the importance of Math and Science and his own experiences - he is an engineer and inventor who has several patents. His presentation was both informative and inspirational. There were many parent volunteers assisting with the exhibits and we want to thank them for their assistance. Both students and teachers enjoyed these exhibits and felt it was both educational and entertaining.
