The Mascenic School District recently participated in the nonprofit “Holiday Cards 4 Our Military”. High school counselor, Cathy Proulx and ATP teacher from Boynton, Cassie Simons, coordinated an effort to send Christmas cards to our active duty service members who have connections to our district.
Addresses of graduates, family members and friends were collected and students volunteered to personalize cards to each one.
Students from MRHS and BMS Gather to Write and Send Christmas Cards to Our Military
The Mascenic District took on a state-wide challenge which was to participate in sending Christmas cards to military troops around the world. Laura Landerman-Garber from Hollis started a nonprofit called “Holiday Cards 4 Our Military, New Hampshire Challenge.” She turned to schools, elected officials, and social media to collect holiday cards. Her goal was to send 5,000 cards, but with the help of many school districts, she received over 48,000 cards which will be distributed among our military men and women across the world. Our Mascenic District students wrote 600 cards for this cause. The cards were donated to us by Wal-Mart in Rindge.
