Boys Finish Season with Impressive 8-1 Record!

The boys baseball team played their final regular season game against Hopkinton on Monday. Both teams entered the game with identical records of 8 wins and no losses. The Hawks lost to the Bulldogs in last years Tri-County Championship game 7 - 1 and like a number of teams we faced last year, Hopkinton wanted another chance to take us down. Their team is much stronger this year and they are well coached.

The game started out well for the Bulldogs as they put up 3 runs in the top of the first inning. They would score another run in the 2nd  inning and 2 more in the 4th.

Defensively the teams performance was not up to par. A number of errors and mental mistakes proved to be very costly for the boys. Hopkinton was a team that capitalized on nearly every error, putting up 1 run in the first, 3 in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd to take a 7 - 6 victory.

Jack C. pitched a very good game with 8 strikeouts but the defense behind him did not support him enough for a win.

The Bulldogs are a team who are not accustomed to losing. In the past 4 years they have recorded a total of only 5 losses. We have won as a team and yesterday we lost as a team, coaching staff included.

From here it’s onto to playoffs which begin at home Friday against Auburn. Monday’s loss is behind us and we will rebound from the loss and press forward in hopes for another opportunity to face Hopkinton in this years final.

Boynton Boys Take 2 in Doubleheader VS Wilton.

The boys baseball team played a double header on Wednesday against Wilton. It was an afternoon that can be viewed from two perspectives. The Bulldogs won both games quite easily out scoring the Warriors by nearly 20 runs in the first game and 10 in the second.

Lady Bulldogs Take 1st Game of Double Header VS Wilton!

The Boynton girls' softball team played 2 games Wednesday against Wilton.  In a close one, the Lady Bulldogs were up 3-2 at the end of the 3rd inning.  Wilton was held in check by Lexis V.'s SEVEN strikeouts, along with 2 fielded plays and a tag play at home plate by Ella P.

In the 4th inning Wilton scored 5 runs to pull ahead, but Boynton came back with 4 runs of their own due to a couple of walks, a hit by Mackenzie C. and excellent base running!  At the top of the 5th, there was a pitching change with Lexis heading to 2nd where she fielded the first out.

Lyla B closed out the inning with 2 strikeouts.  Down by 1, the Lady Bulldogs had back to back hits to opposite fields by Delaney T. & Kim L. to bring in the tying and winning runs to give Boynton a hard fought 8-7 win!
